Arcserve 11.1 upgrade fails

I have recently upgraded two servers and a remote agent from 11.0 [2670] to 11.1 [3060] without any issues but am having trouble getting the patch to apply to our third server. The CApatch.log file only seems to contain one error

ERROR: Failed to get Destination Primary2 [SBS home directory].

I assume SBS means small business server only this is not a SBS. The log then finishes with "LOG: CDoneStep::OnOK() - Setup completed successfully." but when i open the manager this is not the case.

Has anyone else had this issue i can't find anything on the CA site?

The server is a HP ML330 running 2003 SP1.

Is the install being run locally or remotely?

I'm having the same issue trying to install the backup agent v11.1 on a Win 2000 SP4 client.

Anybody know a fix for this?

Login as a local admin.
copy the update files on the local system
or try it from another system.
restart the system.
uninstall and try a clean reinstall.
Database can be recovered from a backup tape and jobs can be saved disk.
