Arcserve 11.0 running on Win 2003 server 1

Hello,

We are backing up a database called Alchemy. It is almost 300 gb. We use dELL DLT1223 LOADER with Dell DLT TAPES WITH CAPACITY OF 200 GB EACH. We mount 4 of these and it still only backups up to 97 % . Other database we back up it lives up to its capacity. ie almost 200 gb on 1 dlt. How come this one doesn't . I've been in touched with Dell and they say it has nothing to do with drive as it is already compressing data.

Could it be Arcserve ? Can anyone help .

Is 300gb the size of the database or the amount of data in the database?

300gb is the whole amount of data

Check if the data is spanned across multiple tapes. If not, please check the options selected in the Backup menu for media 'append to media', overwrite same media name or blank media etc. What does the job log in debug show?
