Hi Everyone,

Situation

Customer has a workflow system that moves all completed work files into a folder after 14 days of no access, they are in folders called JOBNUMBERCUSTOMER they also produce files on another server which can be filed in the same order, i need help working out a solution preferably using veritas where these files can be put together in one location and then archived off the servers onto dvd or tape or something.

The amount of data they create approx 200 GB in completed jobs each month and archives need to be kept for 2 years.

Any help would be appreciated

No, what features does it have that will specifically sort this out??

I've been thinking and came up with the idea of writing some VBS scripts that run through the workflow systrem output folder for stuff to be archived then search the other server for folders of the same name, then move both folders to one location for backup to tape. the problem i come up against with this is how to automatially clear the files out one they have been sucessfully backed up and verified??? can this be scripted from backup exec does anyone know?

You can change the backup method in veritas to "archive". This will delete the files after the backup completes.
