Hi everyone,

I have a notes user that has a 7.5 GB mailfile, and he needs to archive it. So I archived anything not read or openend in the past 160 days. Notes created the Archive locally and it is 5.6 GB in size, which is fine. But the mailfile on the server from where our end users work, is still 7.5 GB in size! Am I missing something? I tried to compact it from the Domino Admin, but the size is still the same.

Please help!

Have you checked the number of documents that are in the mail ? Has it changed ?
If it has, you might just need to rebuild the views (CTRL-F9).
If that is not enough, maybe you'll need to run a fixup on it.

Hi, seems like trash is not empty.
When you delete something, it remains there for some time (soft-deletion), so can un-delete it.

Try emptying the trash, then compact.

Hi everyone and thank you for the responses to my question. What I ended up doing was compacting form the domino administrator and selected the file reduction option. After forcing adminp to run, the mailfile size was greatly reduced.

Thanks again for all of your help!
