Hi Guys\Gals,

Its stupid question time here, and I know that I should already know this too.

On the General Tab of the File Properties, there is a check box called 'Archive', what does this do??

Thank you.

A check in this box just means that the file hasn't been backed up since it was created or last modified. Once it's backed up, the Archive bit will be reset and the box will be unchecked. As they say, the only stupid question is the one that is not asked, however you might get stupid answers. :)

This "bit" says "back me up". Some backup systems backup only the ones that have changed - i.e. the ones with the tick. Full backups will take every file no matter what.

Thank you very much.

It was just a curiousity question.
