Archive bit not being cleared

Hello,

I am running Arcserve ASO 2000, and perform FULL (clear archive bit) backup on a Saturday. On Monday - Friday I perform a 'differential' backup. I have just started to notice that the reset archive bit is not working on all files so the differntial backup is very large.

Does anyone know of fix/patch ?

By Friday, all files that have been modified in the last 6 days will be backed up.

Compare the amount of files/MB backed up on Saturday with the Differential on Monday. If they are the same size, then there is a problem.

Hello,

I am aware in what a differential backup does, and as I said I know the 'archive bit' is not being reset.

Anyone help ?

Check the 'modified date' of a file that should not have been modified since the Full to see if in fact the file has changed.

Also check for any running programs (antivirus, etc.) that could possibly 'touching' these files.

The next step is to open a ticket with CA. Prepare to send in log files and screenshots.
