Hi,

We have an Exchange Server (Win 2003) and we are backing-up with BrightStor ArcServe installed on a W2K server. Everything was working well till we installed some security patches on the W2003 Exchange Server. We installed : KB897715, KB883939, KB893066, KB896422, KB890046, KB896358 and KB894320. After that we (of course) had to shut down an restart this server. Since that night the backup is 'hanging' when trying to do a Brick Level backup on the exhange server. (So, we guess it had to do with the updates, but couldn't find an explaination/solution, on the MS site) The other backup sessions (Database Level IS and SRS) are still fine but as soon as he tries to go to the Brick Level ArcServe hangs without any errors/warnings. In the status view it still says 'Active'. Stopping the job is giving no efect at all - it stays 'Stopping' till ... The only thing we can do is shutting down the W2K Server. We removed the Brick Level thing and then the backup job is working fine, but we also want to backup on Brick Level !!! When we try to make a new job with f.e. only that Brick Level, ArcServe hangs as soon as we click or select 'Brick Level'.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem ???
Searched the web but couldn't find it.
Many, many thanks !!!

Put the Exchange Agent into debug, reproduce the problem, and check the log. The FAQ section of this forum has a doc on how to enable debug.

Also install the latest updates for ARCserve.
