Arc Serve 9 - Restore by Backup Session Problem

We were using Arc Serve2000, in which the following procedure was scheduled on a daily basis:

1. Cartrdige is formatted

2. Full backup is taken (Keep archive bit)

3. After backups, the restore operation "Restore by backup media" is executed to restore session to a hard disk on a particular PC.

In the restore settings, "*" was selected in Media option

After moving the Arc Seve 9 we have run into a problem. Arc Serve 9 doesnot allow us to select "*" in Media option and we have to select the cartridge that is in the drive. Since the cartridge is formatted each time, hence the Media ID changes and the restore operation does not run.

Please help me in sorting out this problem

I don't remember * ever working for a restore.

Well, this settings on Arc Serve 2000 has been working for over 5 months now.

I believe that "*" indicates that no matter which cartridge is inserted, it will extract the specified session from that (provided the cartridge has backed up using Arc Serve)
