There used to be a smartmaster with the 97 suite which could be tweaked to be used to book appointments for rooms etc.

As Im very new to Approach I thought this was a great idea, but having spent a deal of time customising it, when I imported it into the Millennium version it didnt work. And there is no similar smastmaster with the newer version.

I know the solution would be to rewrite the database, however, this is beyond me at the moment...that's why I needed the smartmaster. Im just looking to knock up a simple booking procedure for one room used by a variety of people at various times.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

An application developed in Approach 97 should work fine in newer versions. But if you are using W2000 or W/XP, you need the SmartSuite 9.7 or 9.8 versions of Approach to avoid odd crashes with old application files.

The "room scheduler" SmartMaster still exists. It does not install unless you do a "custom install" of Approach and select it.

Many thanks for the help Sue. This was exactly what I needed, now I can stop hitting my head off that brickwall.
