Hi all,

Does anyone know how to apply a filter to a chart object? I've got a table like this:

Item A Item B Item C
Division1: 10 20 30
Division2: 20 30 40
Division3: 30 40 50
Division4: 40 50 60

I would like to put 3 separate graphs (filter on Item A, B and C respectively) at the bottom of the table, then the charts simply show the breakdown for each Division.

I'm unable to insert a filter anywhere on the chart expert... Is subreport the answer?

Thanks, Excalibur

I just asked this question and had an answer that is really easy.

In the chart expert highlight your field and choose "order"
then "specified order". From there you can pick which data elements you want and under the "Others" tab you choose, 'discard' others.

good luck

Kim

Unfortunately this workaround filters only Divisions (which is your defined Group), however if I wanted to filter on Items, I still cannot do that.

Thanks for the tip though, Excalibur
