after a user logons to the network they get the applying user settings window for about 5 mins. is there a quick and easy way to speed this up?

win2k server w/ active directory
win2k stations
xp pro stations

its actually loading personal settings... and its about 10 to 15 mins.

Check to make sure the computer DNS setting is for a DNS server in the local domain.

well see now what does that mean. ive always used 4.2.2.1 4.2.2.2 for dns. i tried adding the ip of the pdc but that didnt really speed anything up.
so i had
192.168.1.10
4.2.2.1
4.2.2.2

the pdc has active directory setup with default dns settings.

the only other thing i read was the netbio name is different than the domain name. that causes problems.

doamin:local.domain.com
netbio:local
