Hi!

Is there a way to list all application that are NOT installed by SMS?

Thanks!

Markus

Hi!

You mean an application which can't be installed via SMS?

Which software do you mean?

Friendly regards,
Gerhard

No - what I want to do is to make a report/list off all the software that are installed on clients in my network that have not been distributed by the SMS server.

For example, if someone has installed Winamp manually, I want to Winamp to show up in that list.

Ok.

We have just a query with which it is possible to search for specific software over all the systems (Add/Remove Programs Display name is like <promptet value>).

I don't think that you can query if the software was installed via sms or not.

regards,
Gerhard

Just off the top of my head, I would:

1. Write a VBScript to create a NOIDMIF that contains information found under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Mobile Client\Software Distribution\Execution History\System". Each subkey represents an SMS package id, which has program name, status, etc.

2. Write a report which compares the package name retrieved from v_Package, via the package id from NOIDMIF, to DisplayName0 and/or Publisher0 from v_GS_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS.

This, of course, requires that your package names be similar to what's listed in ADD/REMOVE programs.

But, hey, it's a place to start and something is better than nothing!
