I'm posting this as an OS issue because it started happening more frequently after we applied XP service pack 1. I've looked at the known issues, but I can't find any that seem to apply to my situation.

About 12 of our users hang several times a day and have to reboot. We are running Office 2000 on XP workstations and a Win2K network.

We thought it was a network problem -- replaced all the hubs with new switches -- did not help these particular users.

It may be an Office problem, since that is predominantly when it hangs. Tried reinstalling Office but it doesn't help. We can't seem to find anything unique about these particular users.

Virus definitions are all up to date and all workstations have been scanned.

Help!

If you would just post back here the results of your Event Viewer logs...

I understand your frustration, but this is decidedly not normal XP behavior.

Start, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer.
Please tell us what is shown there with a red symbol.
