application taskbar icons now look different

application taskbar icons now look different.Dont know what setting it is to get then back.They look less defined more blotchy like when u change the pixels to 640x480.Nothing else looks blothy just the icons for open programms in the tasbar

It could be starting up in "safe" mode. The colours look different in safe mode than in normal startup.

Have you recently installed anything new?

You can try running the system Restore back to a point just before everything changed.

No I was changing my friends desktop as the toolbar was too big.Unfortunately I was trying to do it through memory as the system was in a different language!Mustve just changed one setting on the icons.Myabe a different size or display setting?

Do you mean Display Properties -->Effects -->Show icons using all possible colors?

One thing that affects the look/size of the taskbar/systray icons is changing the theme. Look in "Display Properties" -> "Appearance" and scroll down to "Active Title Bar" if the size is anything other than 18 you may have issues.
