Hello all,

I've searched Tek-tips and found no likely posts. What do most developers do in your MS/Access applications to provide HELP to the users who need it "inline"? I wrote MS/Word based User Guides in my last Access application project and it seems the users would never open the document even though many questions could be answered there.

Right now I am leaning towards a Forms based help system as an add-on to an application, maybe skipping the paper documentation that no one would read. Suggestions, please?

As always, I appreciate this forum and its helpful users.

Regards,

Why wouldn't something like RoboHelp be a better solution?
You could post updates to that on a website and have your application check the website for updates periodically.

You could always use the MS-supplied Help Compiler, but if were much good, there wouldn't be a RoboHelp.

Larry,

Thanks for your post. Google located RoboHelp for me, and the phrase "Help compiler" led me to a few posts here on Tek-tips.

Should I conclude from your comments on the MSDN supplied Help compiler that it's not worth pursuing? What are its limitations/drawbacks?

Regards,
Harry(xbigblue)

Have you had a look at thread764-324116?
