I work with audio & video editing and have to use WinNT. I was updating a program and thats when all my problems started. Now when I boot up I get a Systray.Exe failed to initialize along with a few otehrs. In order to upgrade the software I was instructed to uninstall it first to install the new version. THen I installed service pack6 for NT. Also, the tech support for my software told me to uninstall my soundcard and all of its software too. Now I get a Autorun.exe application error anytime I try to run a cd to install anything. The same error code comes up when I try to install manulay 0xc 0000005, this eror code comes up when ever I try to run any programs or install anything. Any suggestions? I have 258mb memory, 500mhz cpu, WinNT service pk6. I know nothing about NT and have no problems till now installing programs. Please any info would be greatly apreciated.

0xc0000005 related errors are almost invariably disk access problems. This could be permissions related.

Get a copy of Filemon from and this will help you track down offending files.

I'm not sure why this would have come about - I've not seen SP6 change permissions on existing files. Are you logging on as a non-admin user?

Thank you for your information and I will check out that site too.
