Guys,

I need your help on this and I want to know if our technician who should be administoring our PBX is telling us the truth.

I have a voice menu setup with a menu (1 for english, 2 for dutch) and then when you have the options again, 1 brings you to a thru dial menu.
According to our technician, when you add a thru dial before a menu the the thru dial message play only once and you dont hear the nortel lady. When you place it after a menu you get the message to play twice and also hear the nortel lady saying press * for help.

Please let me know if this is true.
 
nope..

you can rearrange those options as needed.. if you need to hear bib (the nortel lady) 6 times you can.. if you add the thru dial post menu and take all the defaults then you get the call path you've described..

what would be the easiest way to fix this?
Our menu is something like
1 for english
2 for dutch


After pressing 1, u get the option either to reach ther operator or press 1 for thru dial. The thru dial recording just says to enter the extension number.
 
Can I add one thing on a side note - Your guy might just be misinformed, not deliberately lying to you.

Of course, both are problems but at least you can fix misinformed. (Assuming you like the guy enough).
