Hey folks,
I just installed an Apple Video System card in my performa (the one where you get S-Video and A/V input) and among other problems; pixelated images mostly; I looked at the card and it has what looks like a expansion slot. I am wonder what the heck that is if anyone knows tell me. Can I add more Video Ram?

If it has a Dipp slot, I think it is for memory.

I know who knows the answer: an Apple Genius. -God Bless

The extra slot you refer to is a slot for a video out card. If you have the video out card you can play quicktime movies on a tv using either S-Video or Composite Video.
If you are seeing problems with the video make sure you are viewing at thousands of colors and you have virtual memory and file sharing off. There are graphics cards and processor upgrade cards designed for computers that take advantage of the Apple Video System, such as the Power Macintosh 5260/120. The more real ram and the faster the HD and ram, and more HD space, improve performace. Using viewing/digitizing software other than Apple Video Player is recomended.
ie... Strata Video Shop, Quick Editor, Mac TV for viewing.

I would buy a G5 but I'm not rich......

Ebuddy you are super cool thanks for responding that progect went by the ways side for quite some time both your posts were super handy now if I can only dig that out of my closet.
