Hi,
I've programmed User "name" buttons on each phone ( 2420 and 6408D+ ), they all work fine, but incoming missed call log remains empty. I figured out already why, because I deleted the 3 standard Appearance buttons....
So here's my question:
What is the goal of those appearance a= buttons and what is the relation between those 2 features? The help file is not very clear.

Come 3.0 the use of multiple call appearance buttons will become clear - each will represent separate calls that the user can make/answer and switch between.

The guys who wrote the 2420 firmware came from the background of other Avaya systems where users always had multiple call appearances and the code that drive those appearances feeds info into the code that drive the call log.

Ok, Have played with it now, it's clear how to use those appearances.
I come from Tenovis, where we are used to have partner buttons, and no "line" buttons....

I have just come across this "feature" !!!!

We have come from a system with no call appearance keys and so I merrily deleted them. If I hadnt done this then incoming calls are not transferred to voicemail immediately if the user is engaged on another call.

However, this has had the side effect of permanently emptying the call logs. Is there anyway round this?

(We have 5410 phones)

Version 3.0 (44) with call appearances and turn call waiting off

But won't incoming calls just ring and ring?

The reason why I deleted call appearance keys was to force incoming calls to voicemail. Turning off "call waiting" won't effect this, will it?

Even with call appearances the calls should still go to voicemail after the no answer time (default 15 seconds).

Yes, they won't go immediately when on one call as your not seen as busy until all appearances are busy. Maybe need to find a way of adding a second call appearance but having it permanently busy.

Thanks - I thought that this was the position and this is precisely why I deleted call appearance keys.

I do not want someone who is calling me to have to wait 15 seconds before getting my voicemail. There should be an option to transfer such calls straight to voicemail with or without call appearance keys.

I can only hope this will be addressed in a future software realease. In the meantime I will have to do without the call log feature on the phone. Surprisingly the phone manager software does not record the length of calls.

Hi All,

Is it possable to backup/restore the speed dial and call log for 2410/2420 on the ftp/tftp/media server. As i know the IP phone model 4610/20 can be saved into ftp.
