Can I use the webpage upgrade to go from R11.0.0.2 to R11.1 SP1? Or do I need to use the USB method? This is on a App server stand alone physical server.

Its all on the KB. standard ISO upgrade will nto work to go to R11.1. USB or reinstall are your options.

I read that but wanted to be sure as it was not entirely clear and I had heard otherwise at one point. This is the first and I want to make sure it is done correctly.

Try it in your lab before you go to the customer...

teletechman you will need to do a fresh install and restore settings previously backed up.

The reason for a fresh install is that 11.0 is based upon CentOS 6 which has become END OF LIFE. Avaya Version 11.1 is based on CentOS 7, which is a different OS than CentOS 6, this is the reason for new install.

Follow the KB in how to install the new Avaya V11.1.

bahmonkeys,
This was true with upgrade from 11.0 FP4 SP3 to 11.1 GA
But now, from 11.0 FP4 SP4 to 11.1 SP1 there is a different procedure, with a additional 'upgrade-disk'.
This was you can upgrade directly without a fresh installation. And it's pretty fast too.

I got is working like Albus2 said, upgrade to R11FP4SP4 then follow upgrade steps to R11.1 SP1. The only gotcha was when I got onsite the customer had migrated to a VM platform. He did the upgrade to R11.1 SP1 as it required access to the VM control panel to build a new vm machine.
