Hello all,
We have a few XP Pro systems that are used to control test equipment and run simulations in an industrial environment. These systems are not connected to any other computers, a network, or phone lines. They run proprietary, custom-built applications. The devices under test may sometimes fail in such a way as to cause an application fault. When that happens, a window appears offering to tell Microsoft about the failure. This window covers the application window (which now contains details about the problem), but can only be closed by pressing one of two buttons: "send" or "don't send", and pressing either button immediately closes the application and leaves the user with the desktop. Since we can never send this info to MS, is there a way to change the behavior?
I recognize that it seems unusual to actually use a stand-alone computer, these days, but surely this has come up before. We used to use NT systems for this and they didn't use this particular "feature". Thanks for any insight you can provide,
---Will
