We have a new Smart-UPS 3000 running two IBM 335 servers off of it. We are able to configure the UPS to power down the servers on power failure. We are having trouble getting the server to start up again when the power is restored.

IF the power goes out long enough for the UPS to shut down as well - the system restart when the power is restored.

What happens if the power goes out long enough for the servers to shut down but power restores before the UPS shuts down? The servers do not restart. Is there a configuration setting in W2003 or UPS software that I am not seeing?

sent us the wrong cables - APC sent us the linux cables.

well I had the opposite.... linux and they sent me the windows cables!! odd
