Have been running my apache webserver on my WinXP client for quite some while now and it has now begun acting odd. I don't know when this happened since I'm not living where the computer is situated but I'm now here.

I use the webserver solely to store images and show them to friends, i.e. no html at all. When you enter the ip it lists the directories and you are able to browse through them and see what files there are. But you cannot read the files. Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't. Everything but listing the directories seems to be in slowmotion. However, if I enter the webserver on the internal ip address from another computer inside my net it works as it should, perfect.

The setup to the internet is modem->router->three computers which one is the server. I have made port forwarding to the server on :80. I've also made sure that IIS isn't running. That's about it, help me! Thanks a bunch!

Im having the same problem. I have a router and now i ppl cant acess my websites or anything.

For one , you are hosting off personal machiens to the outside world, so even if you host off port 80 , might not work well for you, alot of hosting providers are actually blocking the typical ports ( 80(http) and 21(ftp) inbound on residential accounts )

Try changing your port to 8800 or some other ambigous port number, and inform your friends/family of these changes, sure it may not be friendly looking, but its probally a good quick fix.
