apache vs wampserver 1

I have been using wampserver to run an asp-dot-net webservice.
I want to move it to a vanilla apache install, rather than tell my customer to install wampserver.
I downloaded apache 5.5 and cant find either the modules directory or the httpd.conf file.
I have looked through the apache documentation and they mention httpd.conf but don't say where it goes.
They talk about a connector in an xml file which means nothing to me.

Can anyone push me in the right direction?

I've installed apache on windows as a test server a while back. I never used it so I deleted it. From memory, I think everything was installed in C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2. The file httpd.conf should be in the conf sub-directory. The web pages should be in the htdocs sub-directory. The http.conf file should point to all the modules directory as well as any other files it uses.

There are no .conf files in the conf directory.
There is no 'modules' directory.

Have I installed the whole thing?
I think I will tell my customer to install wampserver.

I think WAMP would be the way to go if they want to do anything more than display static html pages. If you install apache by itself, then you will need to add all the other stuff to make websites interactive. This would mean adding perl/cgi, php, and mysql at the very least. It is no easy task getting all these to play nice with each other. That is why WAMP is so popular. There are many WAMP packages out there. Two that come to mind are wamp5 and apache2triad. If your customer is not familiar with setting up servers, this may be the way to go.

Hi RhythmAce according to me you have installed apache on windows therefore may be service start or any type of process executed if you want to delete all data then you must close services and process
Here i give you some steps to close service in windows xp
start>run>type "services.msc">and chen "apache tom cat" service >properties and say stop....
OK if you are not satisfy then tell me actually what do you want i can able to give in automatic file......OK Bye,,,
