Im running Apache on a win2k machine. If i install CF (and i do the config) apache wont run upon reboot. I then have to uninstall CF. And the instance it's gone, Apache begins running again. Any ideas?

could it have something to do with the port number being the same on both?

Web servers usually run on port 80 (sometimes you see an IP address like so the :80 is the port number.

Maybe both CF and Apache are running on the same port number and this conflict stops Apache from starting up.

So should I change the port number for Apache or CF? And how?

Apache is giving me a version error in the log. it says the script i added to httdocs to get CF to work does not work with my version of apache, but i have the latest version.

abrudkuhl,

I wish I could tell you more but I'm not too familiar myself with CF and how it works. From what you tell me it is a patch to Apache, whereas I thought it was a standalone web server.

I really wished I could help you but this is beyond me.

abrudtkuhl,

Coldfusion and Apache are developed by different people so when a new version of Apache comes out, the CF development team need to alter things so that it works with it. What version of Apache are you running?

Gary,

Coldfusion is a seperate application and basically Apache passes any requests for CF pages to the Coldfusion app for it to process. Coldfusion does come with a standalone server that can be enabled if wanted but it's not recommended for production use. The standalone server runs on port 8500 if I remember correctly.

Hope this helps

Is you CF installation updated?

You have to install updater3 for the latest Apache connectors.
