Apache 1.3 and 2.0

I am new to apache , my question is that : what are major differences between apache 1.3 and 2.0 , and which one is better in implementing SSL ?

In regards to SSL, 2.0 has it included, you just have to compile apache with specific options.

1.3 you have to add as a secondary module (last time I checked).
