Is there an inquery in AP where I can get the balance on an account for a point in time say as of 10/31/05. When I try the balance is also the current balance with the activity from 01/01/05 to 10/31/05 displayed. Total Debits and Total Credit for the time frame, but the current balance as of 12/22/05.

Thanks

When you use the Historical ATB, along with the aging date make sure you insert a Document Date into the restrictions. Our users always forget this step and wonder why their report is wrong.

The historical ATB is a report. I knew I could run this. Is there no inquiry ?

Thank you for your help!

nope, no ready made query. Crystal report or HATB or export everything to excel from smartlist and manipulate.

Try vendor inquiry for individual balances.
Inquiry -> Purchasing - vendor summary inquiry

There are no 'historical' inquiries for payables and receivables...only GL (on a period basis) and Bank Rec for any date.

I have been selling and supporting GP for many years and have not had one request for a historical inquiry (as opposed to report) for payables or receivables...just my 2 cents.

Just to explain, our ap person would like to key in a vendor and see their balance as of 10/31/05, we can ask for the activity between 010180 and 103105, but the balance is the current balance, not the sum of activity as expected.
I suppose this is something in GP we will have to get use to. (This was standard in Realworld).
