Is there anyway to get this combination running on Windows XP ? any help will be appreciated I am thrown into the deep end , finding no firmware for the AP-1000 and got a clint manager AV_WINXP_PC_USB_SR0201.ZIP don't know if that mean anything to anyone ... AP-1000 looks happy but I can't get the Windows machines to see the Wireless network at all.

Regards

You'll find the firmware & AP software here:

I think proxim also have docs available - search the support area. Its sometimes hard to figure out where to go, due to the various different owners of the brands - Lucent, Agere, Avaya, Proxim etc...

Once you have the AP software installed, you can access & configure the AP-1000 and specify your settings. Then duplicate them on the client machines and you should be good to go.

I just acquired 2 AP-1000s, from an office clearance. I needed to force-update the firmware to reset the IP addresses and passwords to the defaults in order to get access. You do that by having the AP software running then power-cycling the AP, then pressing the right combination of front-panel buttons at the right time.

I can't remember them offhand, but you can find them in a PDF manual downloadable from the Avaya website - they call the AP-1000 the Access Point-II. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll send it over.
