The kits are downloaded (ahead of the crunch?) and media burned (DVD for Admin.) Admin 6.0.8 is a much larger kit, CCR 1.2.2.78 is a much smaller kit.
Gosh, now what? Need to get an upgrade license (or an IP500v2), then, other than bench testing, nobody really runs GA software in a production environment, right?
Why not ?
I always do, otherwise stop selling new pbx's and put in a Siemens or Mitel which still do not support Windows 7!!!

When you buy a IP500V2 then you do not need a license because it can only run version 6.0 so there is no upgrade.
When you upgrade from anything lower then 6.0 you need an upgrade license
So an IP406,IP412 or ip500 do need a license to upgrade to 6.0

You need a version 6 licence to run version 6 software, just as you will need a version 7 licence to run version 7 etc. It isn't technically an upgrade licence though - granted that it is in all but name...

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
You can always upgrade to any release but if you do not have a valid software upgrade license your system will stop working

Removal of VCM channel licenses: In order to reduce product complexity, all VCM
licenses will also be removed. VCM 32 and VCM 64 cards will always deliver 32 and
64 channels respectively (subject to existing codec restrictions). Each VCM 32 and
VCM 64 card comes with 12 Avaya IP endpoint licenses enabled. Once the system is
upgraded the license will show in the IP Office configuration as a “VCM Channel
Migration License”.
Note: The Combination card does not come with any Avaya IP endpoint licenses.
Does this means that every VCM card you buy and use in 6.0 will also add 12 endpoint licenses ?
Reading the combocard does not have it means that it works for the VCM cards in 6.0

So, if I have a VCM 32 card on 6.0, I can have all digital stations and have 32 channels to talk across to different sites on an SCN? Or am I misunderstanding.
