Just curious if anyone has had the same problem I've been having, that is sometimes on a battery change the contacts on the phone seem to get caught in the battery and are broken.

My waranty has expired and I've been battling with my supplier, they're trying to tell me it's the way my users are removing the batteries and I'm telling them it's a design flaw with the battery. Anyway I'm getting nowhere fast and they want to charge me $600(cdn) per repair.

Anybody experience this?

I haven't had any issues with our battery contacts so far. The few I've had repaired were on warranty. Otherwise, I had some that were out of warranty and it was only going to cost $150.00 for spectralink to repair them. Try going straight through spectralink. I don't even pay 2/3rd's of that price for my sets brand new from my supplier. You might want to shop around.

Here's what I pay for one phone setup:

1-i640 $1142
1-battery pack $119
1-charger $77
1-transformer for charger $8

Welcome to Canada!

Wow,

I only pay $550 Canadian for my sets and about $80.00 Canadian for my batteries. Chargers are about the same. You're getting screwed, find a new distributer.

I'm buying them from CDW, but the other business partners weren't too far off, within $100.00 not even close to what you're paying. The highest quote I've ever got would be close to $700.00 Canadian.

No, I'm in the US, but I converted the prices from what I pay in the US. Unless they just charge more in Canada on top of what we pay, but I was under the impression that you could actually buy Avaya equipment cheaper outside of the US, hence the "gray market".
