Anyone see a 4GB stick of DDR1?

I am running a 64bit environment, and all I see is 4 GB DIMM and up for DDR2. What were these Chip builders thinking?

not sure what you're trying to say here but ddr2 is available in sizes smaller than 4GB.

When I was born I was so suprised I didn't talk for 18 months

I need 4 gb chips in DDR1; that is why I did a little rant on DDR2 and the availability....

Then it is time to upgrade...

The JEDEC standard clearly defines NO DDR ram modules above 1GB in size, anything above that is non standard...

The DDR SDRAM is a high--speed CMOS, dynamic
random--access memory internally configured as a

64 Mb has 67,108,864 bits
128 Mb has 134,217,728 bits
256 Mb has 268,435,456 bits

But they are still available. They're just not cheap. In some of our IBM LS20 blade servers we use 4GB DDR-400 modules.

I've done a little looking around though, and I have not seen a single 4GB DDR module that was not ECC and registered (in other words, for servers). Most non-server motherboards that accepted DDR didn't support more than 4GB of RAM total anyway.
