Anyone know of an apache doc server like maya uses? Any information on setting something like that up, the security risks, etc? Really am having a hard time finding any info on the concept. I've checked out some of the different uniform and portible server sites and am curious on any feedback from anyone with experience with them?

Basically the concept is just a trimmed down versions of apache that can -only- run a localhost web server so one can include php (or in maya's case jsp) pages with their docs.

One of my other main concerns is the solution get or come up with -must- be cross-platform between both Windows and Macs.

Now it seems OS X comes with an idle Apache web server on it, in this case it seem's I would want to have an OS X version of Apache installed seperately (like on the Windows), however I would want to avoid stomping on a present Apache server people may be running as well. Any ideas, site links, info, or anyone with experience in something similar?
