Hi Gurus,

Does anyone know how to print/copy the gridpane while in SQL view designer? Pritning/copying output grids is easy, but I can't find a way to copy the view designer grid for report documentation use.

Any help welcome.

Are you talking about query analyzer or the enterprise manager create a view?

How about print screen.

In Query Analyzer, right click on the grid pane and choose 'Select All.' Then, right click and select Save As. Choose your location and format, and then print from there.

1. Enterprise Manager create a view in view designer
2. Want the view grid pane - not results (i.e. column, alias, table, output, sort, criteria, etc.)
3. resorted to print screen, but was hoping for something more dynamic - i.e. copy to excel to add notes for documentation.

Currently working on Business Analytics / EBA, so this would be useful to others out thee who will use EBA as PowerUsers.

Useful to anyone designing sql views for reports for documentation.

You can copy the SQL statement from the design grid. That is effectively the important part anyway.

Once someone takes your external sql statment and paste it into a new view, SQL will "recreate" the graphic portion of the table layout and design grid for you.

Thanks Andy.

Yes that is the solution I usually use for recreating views. I wanted the grid itself as it can be dropped into specific documentation forms.

Alas, I settled for screen shots and re-typing. ;>
