Hi all

I got this file i would like to decrypt its a barcode program for intermec printer i have attached the two files that need doing please help

Regards

Please do not take offense, but we sometimes get requests like this for non-legitimate reasons.

We do not assist individuals in breaking the law by hacking other people's development work. They typically encrypt their files to protect their development efforts.

If you have a legitimate reason to open a file which was intentionally encrypted by someone else, please let us know.

NOTE - without any knowledge of how the file(s) were encrypted (there are a LOT of encryption algorithms) the best we could do would be to play a guessing game.

Good Luck,

Can you explain the background of this request? How did you cme about this file, why would you want to change it, and why won't they help you change a value?
Mostly asking the same question jrbbldr's questions.

A well encryption can't be broken without knowledge about the encryption passwords, keys etc.

trying to decrpt is a useless effort, discuss your needs with the vendor of that barcode program.

To add to jrbbldr:
"If you have a legitimate reason to open a file which was intentionally encrypted by someone else, please let us know."

You'd need to provide a proof of that legitimate reason, before I'd even touch this download and even then the cahnces to decrypt this are very bad, you better solve your problems with this vendor.

I can't believe he will refuse to sell you more functionality or licenses or whatever you need.

Bye, Olaf.

"i am not sure at all what program was used i think it wasn't fox "
The files you have posted have a PRG file extension which are most often Foxpro/Visual Foxpro program souce code files.
But if you think that is was not Foxpro/Visual Foxpro, then why have you posted your question to a Visual Foxpro forum?

Regardless - your telling us of the developer's refusal to support you leaves many of us who make a living supporting clients questioning WHY?

If you had initially contracted with the developer to create custom code for you and included in that contract, the rights to the source code, then the developer has no legal right to refuse to support you and since they were getting paid to deliver the source code, they would have had no reason to encrypt the files.

If this is a business critical matter, then your best recourse might be to take legal action against the developer or to hire another developer to create the code as needed.

Good Luck,
