anyone had an experience with media player 9 on xp.
in middle of xp upgrade from w2k and we put mp9 on. users are complaining that video cds are really choppy, ie dropping frames. we have tried all the config options but cant get the performance anywhere near as good as on w2k.
have tested on same machine with wxp and w2k
running mp7 on w2k

any help welcome

I had that same experience until I lowered the video acceleration rate.

I as well had the same experience. I lowered the acceleration rate just like Speedy said but i wanted to know why it was happening. i talked to Microsoft as i am part the MSDN network and they basically just next its because Media Player 9 sux memory like no tomorrow. makes some sense to me but then again it doesn't. what do you guys think? sound like a valid answer from Microsoft?

cheers everyone, seems to me its a bit arse about face. i would have thought the developers would try and reduce the resources needed with every software release!! i will check out the website.
thanks again
