I have an Avaya Definity G3si V12 with 400 digital stations, Call Center, CMS and Intuity Audix voicemail. My employer is moving to a new building and I need to figure out how to move all this in a weekend. I also have bogden paging and 9000 wireless sets.

Does anyone have any advice or been through this before?

Preparation is the key to success. If doing it yourself, you should have all of the station cabling done, then buy new 110 blocks with amphenol cables. You can label the new 110 PBX wallfield and do all of your cross connects for the stations ahead of time so the cutover is just moving the hardware and plugging in the new 25 pair tails. You typically need 30-45 days notice to have your telco provider(s) move your T1 circuits to the new building.

400 stations isn't too big so if you do all your prep work ahead of time, it shouldn't be too bad. 95% of the work can be done pre-move.

I saw a cutover from Dimension 2000 to System 75 once by AT&T...in one night with 400 stations.

I assume you are using the same PBX. I would make sure all stations are cross connected from the PBX room to the stations at your new building.

I would TTI out from the old building of all stations.
Then TTI in all stations at the new building.

All paging heardware should be installed ahead of time. You are not going to be able to re-use all the speakers - too much work to remove and install. The Bogan amp, you must be able to re-use. You may have more than one amp.

Your 9000 wireless set may be your biggest problem. I think you cannot buy hardware for the wireless system any more. You have to re-use. I assume you are talking about the 9601 wireless phone.

Good luck!

One of the key factors in the move is your DID number range. If you are moving to a different CO your numbers may change. That will present a major headache. If this is the case, you may want to pay Avaya or a Business Partner to do the number conversion for you.

I would agree with Kevin. Call an Avaya Business Parter to assist you will the move. If you have Avaya Maintenance agreement, Avaya may not want you to move the equipment on your own. I have hired a BP to move a switch for me several times. The cost was minimial and worth every penny IMO.
