anyone can know how to expiry the catalog tape?

Hi all

I have tried to expiry the catalog tape..but it doesnt work while using the bpexpdate command. Therefore, I used the vmquery command...it not work again.

1. bpexdate -ev N00001 -d 0

it prompts "requested media id was not found in NB media Database and/or MM volume database.

2. vmquery -deassignbyid N00001 NetBackup 1
it prompts "could not deassign media ID N0001: volume is not in the None pool (94)

Anyone can give me the procedure to re-used the catalog tape?

the syntax requires the pools' number for NetBackup not the name NetBackup.


vmquery -deassignbyid N00001 <pool number for NetBackup> 1

Hi Stumpr

Thank you for reply. I think the document has some mistake even I following the step.

Step

1. vmquery -m N0001, it shows the tape information.

2. vmquery -deassignbyid N0001 1 0x0

3. vmquery -m N0001 again, you can see that at the last item "status" is changed from 0x0 to ----

4. inventory the robot

5. bplabel -ev N0001 -d hcart2

6. The tape can re-use

P.S The step can erase the normal back tape, but doesnt work on Catalog tape. I still trying to fix it, anyone can
help
