it was ok, the second guy to speak, cant remember his name (the one who folded under questioning about the pointlessness of extending the available nodes in scn without increasing the extns) was a bit of a tool, considering he is head of something or other. new handsets look ok. coffee ran out too soon

was meant to go but had stuff come up.

ACA - IPOffice implement
ACA - IP Telephony
CCNA - Passed at last

I know what you mean about the coffee, my colleague had to nudge me as I was about to snore. What I couldn't believe about the 1700 series handsets was that they've reverted to paper labels, that's a real backwards step. I like the idea of being able to remote the VM though.

the guy i was talking about got fried when i brought up the paper labels.

i said what happens when a client rings up and says can you please add this button, and you do it remotely.

three options,

stays unlabelled - asking for trouble

biro - do me a favour

i print new labels for them, scan and email/fax to them and get them to fit - not very professional

it really annoyed nme because i would much rather have one of those phones on my desk than the 54XX series

yeah, but supposedly the 1700 phones are very well priced... thats what i am being told anyway.

i suppose thats the trade off.

multiple music on hold will be great

still only 30 voicemail channels, was kinda hoping that might go up....

Interesting day...

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Not really... I don't like being treated like a tw*t (insert vowel of choice a or i) by suits...

its was ok, normal sorta thing, powerpoint overkill.

but was nice to see the new handsets. i only work on ipo so only see 54/56 series

Yeah isnt there some mess with the 1700 handsets, like 4.2 comes out in August but the handsets are not shipping until Late september??

No - digital sets to follow (on the roadmap) - 17xx to come Q4.

Paper labels...grrrr! I complained about them also - apparantly people don't want the 96xx. It would have been nice to have at least the choice, as I know some smaller clients which IPO would only fit who have money coming out their ears who would kill to spend some money on expensive nice looking handsets!!

After working on ACM for sometime now, they are well ahead in the architecture and new technologies (like voice portal and some other great apps)

IPO is and will always be great though!!

Didn't go today, not invited!!! :-(

IPO is and always will be the poor cousin of the ACM

Football is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

Kind of arrogant to say from avaya
I think the customer is one to choose
I really do not understand this way of thinking
If a customer wants to spend money then they do it :)

But i do see an advantage in the paper labels
Give the customera homemade excel sheet with the labels and say that he can have fun with it :)

I am going on July 10th to the presentation and I guess reading this is giving me a heads up on what to expect and make sure to get lots of coffee at the beginning.
