printable Paper Label inserts are supplied with the handsets
Avaya have software available for download that can be used to manage & print the labels.

I think this is a task that should be off-loaded to the customer (it may stope them changing things quite so often :) ).

mabey selling replacement label inserts will become nice little earner?

there was also something anbout building that software into manager

You mean DESI label
Then you have two !!! labels on 1 A4 paper
Waste of paper
Make it in excel and you can put more on 1 A4 paper

Sarnies were ok. They seem confident that there won't be any issues with the 4.2 release. Did anyone notice that they omitted 4.0 and 4.1 from the question sheet re any issues/reliability. Wonder why.

Not being rude, they promised that in 4.1!

I agree with Intrigrant....

I won't deploy 4.2 until the first maintenance release, unless the customer needs a feature in 4.2

to nbe fair, i have found 4.1 a hell of a lot better than 4.0.

we only have one 500 still on 4.0 (out of a lot) and that is purely because its running ok and the CCC is still working.

i do actually feel confident in systems on 4.1.

i agree with Tom, i think 4.1 turned out to be a lot better than 3.2 and 4.0. I do remember hearing "this has been tested in a lot more trial sites than 3.2 version, so we have been able to take care of a lot of the bugs" in the 4.0 forum as well. but then again, i think 4.1 has turned out to be good.

Strange. Had so many problems with 4.0/4.1 with Vm Pro which were only fixed by a trial release version. (In IPO mode anyway)

Ok, I agree 4.1 system firmware is much better. Most issues there are by people who cant be bothered to read the upgrade proceedures.

But VM/Delta Server has been a complete nightmare all through 4.1......

I don't know if paper labels are the worst part.

the 17xx looks good from far, but it feels like something from Toys'R'Us when you start pressing it's buttons =)

But you still have to scroll up/down to go to the right button...[thumbsdown]
I'm still missing a 1000mb port on the phones.

This are better modifications, if fibre to the desk is comming up.

What's interesting is that before I started working inside the industry, if you'd asked me what I'd prefer, paper or digital, I would have said paper.

Hands up, call me a luddite, and I'm probably completely wrong (being the resident newbie), but for 'ol fashioned guys like me, pen & paper still floats my boat => it's easy

*bows head in shame*

I went to the presentation a couple of weeks back and they got some heat for it but they explained that all BP's complained that they needed cheaper phones to be more competitive and the only way to do that is by saving money in the production, so there goes your 25 dollar display making room for your 3 cent paper label and then make the buttons really flimsy and cheap there you save another 25 dollar and the result is the 1700 set. I didn't like the buttons when we tried it out it feels, like Janni78 said, like a Toys'R'us phone but the first few installs with them will show if the work or cr@p out after a week or two of heavy use.

We have 30x 1608 phones over here, the sound of the handset/speaker is lower. The display is shorter so international numbers which are transfered won't show every thing. You can't tel the deferince between internal/external.
