Just curious if anyone can give me some feedback as to how well the wireless connection works on the J179 phones. I have a customer that wants to deploy some of these phones at the homes of their telecommuters, most of which just use wifi... So being unable to really hard wire a phone in, this no becomes an option. I would have to upgrade them to R11, so I want to do my homework before they pull the trigger.

thx

It works fine. I've only done it with one phone but its been here in my house and connected to a Containerized IP Office system for months now.

I would be wary of doing as a solution for multiple phones at the same site and retaining voice quality, but what you describe is exactly the scenario its useful for, a remote location where the domestic hub doesn't do PoE.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

I have a customer who has 8 within there office, they all work great and with no issues other then some areas with low Wifi signal.

Have a customer in a big building that has 10 phones and the voice quality is intermittent crap because they have so many different WiFi networks around that the bandwidth fluctuates.
They found 25+ different SSID's within range and they fight of course for bandwidth.

We tried it out in our office where we only have 2 other WiFi networks bleeding in and it worked OK
