Anybody recommend something similar for android

Hi All
I've used FPW2.6 vfp 3 (yuk) 5 6 8 and 9 mainly for personal RAD although I did use it for teaching Databases for a couple of yeras at A level. I have a smal personal finance program which I and a few of my friends use (very simple) they now have smartphones and are starting to ask whether I can 'port' the application to android. I have only just got a smartphone and have no experience with android so can anybody point me in the direction of some software I could use - will be a part time project

I'd take a look at Phonegap to target more than just android. While it's quite obvious android is there to stay, apples iPhone/iPod Touch iOS also will stay with a great market share. And it doesn't hurt to also be able to run on all other smartphones.

I'm not using this, but this is a proposed path for mobile development from a german foxpro collegue, so I'd trust this to be worthwile to look at.

Servoy even has a famous foxpro developer behind it, namely Jürgen Woindzinski better known as wOOdy, but Servoy has it's focus more on browser apps, than on mobile apps. It's even good as replacement for browser based desktop apps, it's basis is Java. I'd suggest you look at the licensing policies of Servoy.

Hi, you can view new books on Amazon Kindle that talk about PhoneGap and cross platform development with HTML5 in general. There`s a few new ones coming out in the spring, but there`s a good primer that i bought the other called ``beginning mobile application development in the cloud for beginners`.
