Anybody know of any good software that can tell me when my server is.. 2

Hi

This may not be the best forum to ask on, but I could not find one any better. I need so software that will look at our network 23/7 and tell me if a webserver/firewall/line has gone down, it would need to do this by SMS, and maybe through a phone line (if the Internet connection is lost), anybody use or know of any good software.

WhatsUp (Gold is the current best and $$$ version) will monitor. It can be taught to tell you what service failed, and if the whole box dropped. Pages, e-mail, name it.

Just not free.

some that I can think of right off the bat:


1) SMS (Microsoft Systems Management Server could do this for you)

2) If you are using Compaq Hardware, the Compaq Insight Manangement software could do this (free solution)

3) HP Openview (costly) could do this for you..
