Any way to limit Archiving?

I send+receive a lot of multimedia in Outlook - is there any way I can make it archive just the messages and not the huge attachments?

Delete the attachments from the message when you have finished with them.
That way they are not there to archive.

You will need an add-on to do this - the built-in Outlook archiving isn't that sophisticated... There are plenty of tools that will do what you're after - have a look at something like WN MailKeeper for example.
