Dear all,

Does any one know of a way to hide the floppy drive from users profiles?

I would still like the floppy drive to be visible for administrators.

Is this possible?

Kind regards

We do the same with CD's but disable them through Device Manager with Admin rights ... i.e. they can't get in to change this. However it doesn't remove the icon I'm afraid so they still know it's there and frustrates them all the more!

You could always pull the cable internally ... if you only need the floppy for Booting / rebuilds etc it might be an easier option. That would take away the icon ... doubt you'd need to do anything in the BIOS.

Check out the group policies there is one to hide drives. I am not near the server right now, but I think there is the option to hide A & C.

The M$ TweakUI program allows you to hide any drive. Its freely available from a lot of web sites.
