I need to move some data from a test server to a production server.

Is there any useful script that I can use to automatically generate INSERT statements for each table that I need to move to production?

I don't really like to use a tool like bcp as I'll be inserting some data to critical tables and seeing individual INSERT statements makes me more comfortable.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

As I kinda recollect , there is a way to do that using a DB access tool DBArtisan

I am not using it currently and cannot give you the exact solution.
But I am sure that DBArtisan lets you generate insert statements of a physical table to a file.

Hope you find this useful

Cheers..

Hi antzzz,

Nikhil here is right. U can generate insert statements using DBArtisan. We can do that by choosing the DBArtisan -> Schema Extraction option.
It has got a very easy wizard interface which can be used for generating the insert statements for any table.

cheers,
KK
