What are you looking for a recommendation on? What type of PBX? Since you posted on this board, I'd say go with the OpenScape Voice platform. Run as much as possible on SIP. It'll save on your overall cost, as analog requires hardware.

Hi lopath,

requirement is purely TDM,
is it ppossible on openscape 4000 Ecoserver?

Quite possible. I'm not well versed on the EcoServer, but from I'm reading in the OpenScape 4000 V8 presales literature, the EcoServer can handle up to 12,000 users.

"The EcoServer is the new control of the OpenScape 4000. The 19" housing measuring 1.5 height units contains the entire simplex control including the available alarm interfaces and connections for the AP3x00 access points. The EcoServer option supports converged IP requirements involving applications with a large number of analog and TDM devices, DECT applications, or specialized industry sector applications. The new hardware offers new redundancy opportunities, and can be deployed highly scalable and secure in data centers."

You'd be best off consulting with a system engineer to get an official thumbs-up. You'd want to ensure you don't overload the system. There's a document called "Empirical Formula for OpenScape 4000 Project Planning" (A31003-H3180-P100-2-7620). It has the formulas for determining the estimated processor load. They do it on a point basis. The EcoServer can handle 228,000 points. Each device/trunk takes a certain number of points, but you also have to figure in the "mean traffic value per port" and other things that will give you a migraine!

I'm curious what you're doing for RoIP, as I'm a radio guy. We use Raytheon and Vocality devices that connect to the PBX as a SIP connection.

If you are strictly going TDM (analog and TDM phones) and no IP you will either need media gateways or system cabinets and boards to allow connection of your devices. That can get rather expensive depending on how you want to do the configuration. I believe the AP3700 cabinets will still work with the ECO Server and using cards and traditional wiring will be more efficient in that case. If you use the media adapters you get 24 modular ports in a 1U rack mount enclosure, and in my situation I have 400+ analog devices and if you divide that by 24 16U of rack space just for that, plus the individual power cords and any cable management you want on the rack... I would definitely decide what specifications for number and types of phones, trunks, announcements, etc you will need and have a sales engineer recommend a system configuration based on that.

Sounds perfect for OS4K to me. Large TDM base, with capability of IP trunks/shelves/phones if you want it. 4K will have no problem with the E1/T1 or the analog trunks, and will surely have an interface suitable for the ROIP device.
