Hi all.

Any quick way of creating authorization codes for 100 users at a go instead of one at a time in IPO?

Create one, export the whole config as a CSV text file.
Open the text file in a good text editor ( NOT MS Word ) and delete evrything except the Authorisation codes, what remans looks like this:
AuthorizationCode_Info_Start
AU_AccountCode,AU_URG,AU_User_name,AU_GUID,AU_RecordInbound,AU_RecordOutbound,AU_TimeProfile,AU_AutoVRL,AU_ManualVRL,AU_AutoRecMailBox,AU_ManualRecMailBox
1234,,Ben,691250006c8d11dd8ada00e0070316a6,None,None,,False,False,,
AuthorizationCode_Info_End

Select the line "1234,,Ben,691250006c8d11dd8ada00e0070316a6,None,None,,False,False,," and copy and paste into excel
In excel paste the data, it will be in one cell. Now goto the tab "Data" and select "Text to colums", select the comma as separator.
Then you can add as many records as needed.
When done save a .csv file, open it in the text editor, select all except the first line and paste it in the text as shown below

]AuthorizationCode_Info_Start
AU_AccountCode,AU_URG,AU_User_name,AU_GUID,AU_RecordInbound,AU_RecordOutbound,AU_TimeProfile,AU_AutoVRL,AU_ManualVRL,AU_AutoRecMailBox,AU_ManualRecMailBox
1234,,Ben,691250006c8d11dd8ada00e0070316a6,None,None,,False,False,,
1235,,Ben,691250006c8d11dd8ada00e0070316a6,None,None,,False,False,,
AuthorizationCode_Info_End

Save the file as "configuration.csv and import it in the Manager.

Done

Of course it's taken 3 hours for you to just a proposed answer which still requires you or someone to then TYPE THE NUMBERS AND ASSIGN A USER TO EACH!

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

And if you make a tiny error in that export file, you're going to waste another 3 hours looking for it.

Making 100 auth codes manually takes less than 7 minutes.
Sometimes old style is better:)

Kind regards

Gunnar

The question was "How to add bulk auth codes to IPO" and my answer covers exactly that.
Now about a mistake in the file, when you create 100 auth code's in 7 minutes I cannot believe you won't make a mistake.
Old style sucks, now you can send the atuh code csv file to a customer, they can complete it and any mistake is their own error.
That is how I do it, modern and lazy style swings...

Don't see how a mistake would happen.
You get the codes from the customer in an excel sheet sorted by names, make a Auth code, copy 99, paste in one by one in the. (there's an unique string in each auth code as well, don't know if that gets fixed when loaded back).

Sometimes people spend too much time automate processes.
Next thing you know, someone wants a phone unpacker [smile]

Kind regards

Gunnar
