Any information about cross platform fonts?

I am working on PC, some of my clients have in-house designer on MAC. I was wondering if anyone had any solutions to cross platform font, I would like to use their exact fonts for design continuity. One of the designers offered some Open Type fonts, to my understanding I should be able to use these. Couldn't load them into windows 2000. Any help would be appreciated? Thank you.

Ok. This is strange. These Open face fonts loaded into my computer. I can use them in Microsoft windows, but not Illustrator.

V8....of course that makes sense if these "open face fonts are new. i'll try it and reply. Thanks.

Upgraded to V10. Fonts showed up. Thanks for your help. I love when advise works it's so cool.
