Any good resources for understanding phone systems better?

I recently started a new job, and one of my many duties is the care and feeding of a Nortel Modular ICS 4.0 phone system with around 50 handsets or so.

Does anyone have recommendations for good places to start reading to understand these sorts of phone systems in better detail?

I just went through installing a new line and getting a new phone setup with my manager today. I think I followed most of it, but I'd like to understand how the Modular ICS 4.0 works in better detail.

I appreciate any help I can get.
