Just curious as to whether anyone has ditched Macromedias program to use Adobe's product.

As someone with experience with both programs - how do the products compare?

I've tried to get some info regarding this matter on other forums, and people tend to be very biased in their opinions regarding these two products. I'd really appreciate the opinions of someon who is very familiar with both apps.

Thanks!

I use both DW and GoLive. I prefer GoLive but use DW on some sites the others originally did with DW.

Each program has good and bad points.

GoLive has better interface, integration with other Adobe products, and better site management features. But is greatly lacking support for databases and dynamic drivin sites.

DW has better database and dynamic support. But i hate the interface and miss many of little site management features that GoLive includes.

So for a beginner who is unlikely to be buiding any sites with dynamic data, GoLive would be a fine app to learn for buliding sites? (By the way, I'm already familiar with the remainder of Adobe CS suite)

Any other comments?

For someone in the situation you described i would definately recommend GoLive over DW.

You'll feel right at home as GoLive's interface is similar to the rest of the CS suite and it doesn't sound like you'll be needing the features GoLive lacks.
